Robert Hariri MD, Phd
Dr. Hariri is a pioneering stem cell researcher and biotech entrepreneur, renowned for his discovery of pluripotent stem cells derived from the human placenta. He was also part of the team that discovered and identified the physiological activities of tumor necrosis factor. With over 200 issued and pending patents, as well as more than 200 publications, his research has significantly advanced the fields of immuno-oncology, cell therapeutics, and regenerative medicine.
He is the Founder and former CEO of Anthrogenesis Corporation. Following its acquisition, he became the CEO of Celgene Cellular Therapeutics, which was spun out in 2017 to establish Celularity. Dr. Hariri co-founded genomic-based health intelligence companies such as Human Longevity, Inc., and Fountain Life and serves on several public boards, including Cryoport (NASDAQ: CYRX).
His scientific contributions have earned him prestigious accolades, including the Thomas Edison Award and the Pontifical Medal for Innovation. Dr. Hariri obtained both his M.D. and Ph.D. from Cornell University.
